Knicks Complete Historic Comeback, Stun Spurs in Game 4 to Move Within One Win of NBA Title

The New York Knicks are one victory away from ending a 53-year championship drought after authoring one of the greatest comebacks in NBA Finals history.

Trailing by as many as 29 points, the Knicks stormed back to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 in a thrilling Game 4 at Madison Square Garden, taking a commanding 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals. The comeback was the largest in NBA Finals history and instantly became one of the most memorable games ever played on basketball's biggest stage.

For much of the night, it appeared the Spurs were headed toward evening the series. San Antonio dominated the first half, building a 27-point halftime lead and extending its advantage to 29 points in the third quarter. The Knicks looked overwhelmed as the Spurs' offense fired on all cylinders and silenced the Madison Square Garden crowd.

But New York refused to quit.

Led by Finals MVP candidate Jalen Brunson, the Knicks slowly chipped away at the deficit. Brunson poured in 36 points and provided the leadership that has defined New York's remarkable postseason run. Meanwhile, OG Anunoby delivered one of the greatest performances of his career, finishing with 33 points and saving his biggest play for the game's final seconds.

With the Knicks trailing by one point and time winding down, Brunson launched a deep three-pointer that bounced off the rim. Anunoby soared above the crowd, tipping in the miss with just 1.2 seconds remaining to give New York a dramatic 107-106 lead. The Garden erupted as the Knicks completed a comeback that seemed impossible only hours earlier.

The final defensive stand sealed the victory and sent Knicks fans into celebration across New York City. From Madison Square Garden to watch parties throughout the city, the win reignited championship dreams for a franchise seeking its first NBA title since 1973.

The victory gives New York three opportunities to clinch the championship, beginning with Game 5 in San Antonio. What once looked like a competitive Finals has suddenly shifted heavily in favor of the Knicks, who now stand on the doorstep of basketball immortality.

For a franchise that has endured decades of heartbreak, disappointment, and near misses, Game 4 may be remembered as the night everything changed.

Now, the Knicks are just one win away from bringing an NBA championship back to New York.
